Nestled in the beautiful rural region of Bavaria is the picturesque town of Erding that was founded almost 800 years ago. Located a little over 20 miles north east of Munich, it has easy access from the city and has a strong connection with football through a namesake business that calls it home.
To celebrate its football connections, ERDINGER Weissbräu is giving three Football Weekends readers the chance to win a prize bundle!
See details below on how to enter.
ERDINGER Weissbräu is the largest German family-owned wheat beer brewery and has brewed its outstanding wheat beers exclusively in Erding for over 135 years. A staunch defender of quality, ERDINGER wheat beers are brewed using only the pure natural ingredients of water, malted wheat and barley, hops and yeast – in strict compliance with the Bavarian Purity Law.
This ensures the unmistakable taste of ERDINGER wheat beers that is produced by using the best, natural ingredients, Bavarian brewing skills and the highest quality standards.
The classic ERDINGER Weissbier blends gently spicy malt aromas with mildly bitter hops but its secret lies in the unique ERDINGER brewing yeasts. They provide the fruity notes and unmistakably fresh flavour.
The finishing touch for every ERDINGER Weissbier is a further specialty: the "Bayerische Edelreifung" or double maturity method. After the main fermentation process, the beer is given the time it needs to mature a second time in the bottle which allows its delicious lively nature and the balance of its various aromas to fully unfold.
But successful football partnerships are also important to ERDINGER Weissbräu – from supporting individual testimonials to football clubs and grass roots sports associations. In the past ERDINGER has partnered with Franz Beckenbauer, FC Bayern Munich and the Bavarian football associations and, more recently, has been working with ERDINGER Weissbier ambassador Jürgen Klopp since 2020.
Klopp has been filmed in his adoptive city of Liverpool pleading with people to 'Never Skim an ERDINGER' and to not forget 'The Best Bit' – the yeast that's found at the bottom of the bottle.
